Wow, what a day of football and weather. I’m giddy about snow games, the kind where every yard feels like a fistfight; I was literally shoveling a path for the dog before kickoff, and it set the tone perfectly.

People either love these throwback snow grinders or hate them, but I’ll take outdoor chaos over dome ball every time.

New England at Denver was pure spectacle: whiteout visuals, one-way offense depending on the wind, and a brutal surface that made every first down feel cinematic.

Denver fans have to be gutted; passing on an easy early field goal in that building with that forecast looks painful in hindsight, and the weather spike made it even worse.

When you trust your defense and have Jared Stidham, you take points and bank margin for the storm; that decision swung leverage in a game like this.

Drake May was rough throwing but kept New England alive with his legs; the Patriots basically outlasted Denver, and Vrabel’s take-the-three approach won the margins.

The blizzard hit right when New England needed it, they opened the third quarter with a long, clock-chewing drive while Denver could barely move into the wind; the Broncos should feel like they let a steal slip away.

Victory lap on the Broncos plus points; that dog covered wire to wire, and those ugly home-dog spots keep rewarding patience.

Our bets on that game: Denver plus points cashed, Stidham to throw a pick hit late, and the over died once the snow took over; his pass attempts stalled at thirty-one after that backward toss was ruled a lateral.

May’s rushing props saved the model while the booth chatter drove me nuts; I’d love to see JJ Watt in that seat because the second half was un-scoutable for any fair read on Stidham.

On Stidham’s future, the first half flashed the arm, but he feels like a high-end backup who can steal a couple wins, not someone you retool an offense around.

Exactly; at his age and athletic profile he’s a strong number two, just a tick slower than Bo Nix on those gotta-have-it keepers, and the weather turned the rest into noise.

Seattle against the Rams was a ride; we laid Seattle and faded a Jackson Smith-Njigba touchdown, but special teams decided it, with the Rams’ muffed punt after halftime creating the cushion alongside JSN’s end-of-half score.

Both teams were themselves, except Sam Darnold played out of his mind with big yards and no disasters; the fumbled punt and a harsh flag were the pivots that separated it.

Stafford was in full gunslinger mode, throwing into tight windows all day; in the end, those two swing plays mattered more than rest or travel angles.

JSN was a problem at all levels and Darnold’s off-platform dime before halftime flipped momentum; wild that Darnold’s taken Seattle to the big one.

It says a lot about the Jets’ QB sinkhole; credit Seattle for the cap-friendly Darnold move and handing the room to JSN while retooling around him.

Quick Rams note: you have to keep Stafford, even if it’s a tag or a short overpay; the weapons produced and they were one fourth down shy.

Shame goes to Riq Woolen for taunting after a huge fourth-and-long stop, then immediately getting beat by Puka; the refs were letting it slide until he kept walking and jawing.

Agreed, and I’m spent after that Broncos sweat.
