Episode summary

Long day at my kid’s wrestling tournament, but I had to jump on and talk about Sean Strickland and what he just did to Fluffy Hernandez—wild card, guys.

What stood out about Strickland’s game tonight? He lived behind a crisp jab, controlled distance like he did against Adesanya, and never let Hernandez get comfortable.

How did the finish happen? He timed a knee to the body as Fluffy marched in, finally made him back up, then swarmed for the stoppage in the second.

What’s the lesson versus pressure guys with granite chins? Stop headhunting and cook the body—knees and body kicks slow them down and open the door.

What about the callout and the chaos on the mic? Post-fight he lit the place up, called for Hamzat Chimaev, and there was chatter his mic got cut—I need to rewatch that; if this locked-in version shows up, the Hamzat fight gets way tougher, though keeping him off for twenty five minutes is the big ask.

Any numbers to back it up? In two rounds and change he piled up about one hundred ten significant strikes, gave up roughly fifty five, and stuffed all of Fluffy’s takedowns.

Who else impressed? Medich starching Geoff Neal with one shot blew my mind, Eros Medic is gaining steam, and big props to my guy Jacoby Smith for a first-round TKO in his main-card debut.

We watched it on a TV at the tourney in Houston—one of the best fight towns out there. Hit like, subscribe, tell your people, and I’ll see you next time. Peace.
