Episode summary

Thanks for joining us today—let’s get right into it.

I wasn’t even going to come until I heard someone called me an embarrassment to our people; check the beard, check the pronunciation—don’t come at me with that.

Quick one: if a league switches from half to full point per reception, do the single‑game tight end rankings actually change?

I brought in David Dwork from The Hockey Show because I need backup getting everyone—spouses included—to the Cyclones versus Devils Battle Court championship, and Roy is bailing to train for a media skate, which is a brutal excuse.

Go Cyclones, and while it sounds flimsy, I respect a training plan; I’m texting my wife to see if we can go.

I do need the reps—I don’t skate well, I’m staying sober, and I’m trying to be ready—so I might skate tonight and again Sunday if there’s open ice.

What even happens at this media skate, and can you at least ask your wife if she’d rather you come to the fronton with the family?

Text that George Clooney will be there and watch the magic; we’ve got floor‑level seats and you’ll be right on the wood.

Update: my wife saw “George Clooney” and said she’s in, so I’ll keep that going while I find a sitter.

Update on my end: my wife replied, “I can go,” so now I’ve got to decide if I’m going too; non‑alcoholic drinks work fine for me.

Pivot to wrestling—John Cena’s farewell is Saturday night in D.C., I’m flying up, he’s opening the show, and I like that because the crowd’s fresh; but tradition says you lose your last match, so does he actually beat Gunther?

He could win and then get jumped, and when he leaves something in the ring at the end it’ll be sneakers, not boots.

Last week’s playoff fronton was a quiet matinee—just us and Ray Lewis across the way—until our cheering loosened him up, and yes, that sport’s no joke with a ball that can scream near two hundred miles an hour.

Back to the math: full point per reception reshuffles history because catches add differential value—George Kittle’s big catch game jumps Alge Crumpler once you add the extra points, and the whole order moves.

Got it—rankings do change; I don’t know why my brain fought that, but props to you.

World Cup ticket prices here are outrageous, European fans are organizing, and they think protests can move prices—could that ever work in the States?

Not likely—here it’s fees and free‑market gouging, which is why a ringside Royal Rumble seat in Riyadh plus airfare can be cheaper than a ticket here, and meanwhile tonight’s Battle Court final is free.

So the chance of U.S. prices budging is basically zero, and if you rant online about it, maybe delete that before you fly in.
