Episode summary
Spotted that blue circle in your new place, and it fits the vibe. First pod since you finally got real minutes; how’s the knee and the energy?
I’m not tempting fate by saying great, so I’ll go with feeling steady. New York was fun, dinner with my SI girls, then a preseason game where I got about ten to thirteen minutes, shot it with confidence, and our team’s pace felt real.
Where do you land on preseason—love the reps or hate the games that don’t count?
It’s valuable after camp because you finally test against someone else, see what’s real and what needs work, and we even beat a title-level group which still feels good. Best part is watching rookies shake off nerves and get their first taste of the dream.
Do you remember your first preseason moment?
Seattle, buzzer-beater, wild finish—even if it didn’t count, I’ll never forget it, and I love our rookies now too.
Run us through the rookie class.
Raven Johnson’s our top pick, a lively stopper who changes possessions. JT from Alabama is strong, gets to spots, and scores; KT is a quick, shifty guard with defense; JP from Vandy stretches the floor and shoots; and Megan Connell’s a scrappy point who shoots, finds teammates, and happens to have a brother in the league.
Like baseball with lefties, does a guard who favors one hand mess with defenses?
We build sets to players’ strengths, so yes, strong-hand actions are a thing—Kelsey Mitchell and A’ja get to their best hands because it puts them in winning spots.
Uniform swag check—headband era incoming or nah?
I’ve rocked long sleeves for elbow stuff and a leg sleeve right now, but I’m not reinventing my look. We’ve got Dallas midweek, Nigeria on Sunday, then May ninth at home, and I’m sprinting to a Morgan Wallen show after because our fans and a country night is my perfect doubleheader.
The Fever schedule looks wild—did I hear every game is nationally televised?
All of them. It’s different and very cool.
Festival take: I’m not built for Coachella-level dress codes and dust; I’m a casual concert person at best.
Give me a summer country show outside over a packed indoor concert any day.
I’ve got to ask—what’s the deal with the reunion leak?
Rumors flew, but it wasn’t anyone on stage, and Bravo’s usually airtight so this felt like a gut punch. I can’t get into details, but it made a long day heavier and just felt like a hit to trust.
We can’t say much, but maybe the silver lining is people now expect real conversations—tease in a good way if you stay optimistic.
I’m focused on repairing friendships and learning; growth is the only way through it. On top of that, my accounts got hacked and some old nudes leaked, which I’m owning even though it sucked—please don’t do that to people.
How did you even find out?
I got a text minutes before walking on stage, so I had to wear the worst news while working. I’m letting the year be about growth and moving forward, one honest day at a time.
Sticking with relationships—there’s drama everywhere right now.
Yeah, the timelines are full of he-said-she-said and people building rosters out of rumors; I’m not the ideal commentator on that this week.
Quick news drop: a swirl of photos and reports suggest a coach–reporter situation that led to a resignation, and while the league found no rule break, it’s still a messy distraction.
That’s a lot—show me the pics later.
Another one: Jalen Duren is facing Wendell Carter Jr., who’s dating Angel Reese—Duren’s ex—and his numbers dipped, while she’s posting his bad plays. NBA Twitter is living for the mental game subplot.
Has he said that’s why, or are we connecting dots from socials?
No statement from him, just timelines and posts, but the timing is loud.
Also on the watchlist: Running Point is back on Netflix with bigger stakes, more chaos, and a basketball world full of politics and family pressure.
It mirrors the job sometimes—spotlight, egos, and proving you belong.
Hot headline: the Enhanced Games in Vegas invite fully juiced athletes for one night of swimming, track, and weightlifting with huge prize money.
I’m curious whether the results make a clear case that chemistry alone tilts performance when everyone’s boosted.
If elites juice against elites, the margins might be smaller than we think, which is why I’m fascinated by how it plays out.
Collectibles corner: a Helen Keller autograph card just sold for serious money—how do you even authenticate that?
Wild piece of history, but the bigger head-scratcher is understanding her early learning without sight or sound.
If it’s truly signed, that price feels low for how rare it is.
Style take: I won’t wear jeans for a coffee or dress up for airports, but I was blown away in Japan seeing near-perfect suits on every commute—clean tailoring everywhere.
Personal update: I turned an ugly ankle sprain into a mini comeback arc—brace on, jogging, lateral work, and I’m probable for kickball.
You can enjoy sunshine and grass without getting hurt, but I respect the rehab grind.
Okay, betting 101—what do those plus and minus numbers actually mean?
Minus odds mean it’s likely, so you risk more to win less; plus odds mean it’s less likely, so you win more than you bet. If something sits near one hundred either way, it’s close to even.
Got it—big negative means near-lock, big plus means long shot.
That’s 38 in the books, good to see you, and the W is about to heat up. Catch you next time.
