About this episode

The WNBA’s Sophie Cunningham and Bravo’s West Wilson kick things off with an aggressive iced coffee vs. hot coffee debate (because apparently hot drinks are a scam), and within minutes it turns into a full-on Kansas City Chiefs and Arrowhead dome meltdown that has West ready to throw up. From there, Sophie recaps the Sophie Cunningham Classic (packed gyms, elite hoops, big-time sponsors, and Columbia being dead when Mizzou isn’t in session), while also dealing with a suspicious combo of cold sore drama, mouth tape scars, and “toothpaste” evidence that the internet will absolutely not forgive. Then it’s rapid-fire pop culture and unhinged fun: ‘Summer House’ watch party news, Alix Earle and Tom Brady rumors, Arby’s Hot Girl of the Week goes to West’s mom (doctor cover shoot ICON), plus a viral list of “first date places women refuse to go” that sparks a heated debate… followed by appetizers-aren’t-for-sharing discourse, National Bagel Day rankings, and Joey Chestnut bagel-eating madness. To close it out, Hard Rock Bet brings the odds for the College Football Playoff Championship, and the crew makes their picks before signing off with one of their favorite episodes yet — and a call to get Becca Tilley on the pod. 00:00 - Start  1:00 - Hot vs Cold Coffee  5:00 - Cold football is the best  7:30 - KC Chiefs Rant continues  10:00 - Sophie’s mystery stains   12:00 - West’s Mouth tape scars  13:43 - Actual Sophie Cunningham Classic Recap   16:45 - SCC Future Schedule  18:00 - Do you like drinking?  20:00 - Lexi Hull Engaged… last year  21:00 - no CBA Progress WNBA  Negotiations  25:00 - Great ASW Indy 2025 Story   26:00 - West Wilson on liver detox 27:30 - BRAVO WATCH PARTY  27:55 - West will be there!  31:00 - Alex Earle & Tom Brady Vacation  31:40 - Hot Girl Of The Week  35:40 - AD BREAK ARBYS  36:40 - Worst first date spots ranked!  41:50 - Appetizers meant to be shared? 43:20 - TOP 5 BAGELS LIST  45:20 - Joey Chestnut DMed Sophie  46:20 - Jaylen Brown NBA Ref Beef!  51:16 - AD BREAK HARD ROCK BET  52:30 - NCAA FOOTBALL FINALS PREVIEW  Get your Meat & 3 box at an Arby's near you today. Episode summary

We open with me clowning Sophie’s toothpaste-on-the-hoodie and her very loud lip situation, then I’m like, what’s up love bugs—me and Sophie are back for episode 29 of the Show Me Something podcast.

It was toothpaste, not what you’re implying, and yes, I’ve got a cold sore after bouncing between climates. I’m in Houston freezing at 45 degrees and still ordering iced coffee, and I swear Arizona at 65 to 70 feels chilly too.

Cold hits different depending on where you are; Montana dry cold lets you wear a tee at 35, while Missouri’s wet cold stings. Speaking of weather, I’m triggered that the Chiefs want a dome—football belongs outside.

You lose the Arrowhead weather edge and the whole vibe for money reasons, and fans get stuck with longer drives and less grit. I’ll rant about this for six years if I have to.

Weather is part of the sport, and a dome erases a real advantage, which is why people aren’t renewing. Moving it adds a brutal game-day commute too.

Okay, I’m awake now, and I love it. Sophie, how was the Sophie Cunningham Classic—did it drain you or light you up?

Best year yet—32 games, packed gym, elite energy, and the Incarnate Word versus a New York powerhouse was the best high school game I’ve seen, with Blue Hog barbecue fueling everything off the court. Downtown was dead since school’s out, then I hit Indiana for workouts and now I’m wrecked and blaming the climate for my cold sore.

I couldn’t see it till I could, and Aquaphor saves lives. I’m on a rest streak—no booze, clean eating, eight hours a night—and when I’m all-in like this, everything healthy gets easier.

Same—no drinking means earlier mornings and better sleep. Also, LOL, I tried to bring Fever energy by congratulating Lexie Hull for an engagement that happened last year, and honestly it’s just us few around because CBA talks are messy.

No real progress on the CBA from what we’re getting in PA emails, just crickets. I’ll be in town next week and want real hang time.

I track my month with a dorky Photoshop picture calendar, and I might do Super Bowl and All-Star. Remember that All-Star in Indiana when it dumped a foot of snow and I put Sophie on my shoulders to crash scrums—Damian Lillard gave an answer so long my legs gave out.

This season we’ve got a two-week break for Euro stuff, and I’m tempted to pop to the Hamptons to meet your cast. The league would hate it, but I can dream—and while we’re at it, what was that Alex Earle and Tom Brady clip?

The Hamptons is a trek with trains and cars unless you’re on a seaplane, and I’ve got no tea on that clip. Hot Girl of the Week is my mom, Dr. Elizabeth Wilson, gracing the Boone Health cover and talking HRT—page eight explains why the weight won’t come off.

I’m picking Becca Tilly—she’s sweet, funny, engaged, travels, and apparently hoops, so I’m sending her Adidas basketball shoes. Wes wants a pair too, and yes, I’ll hook him up after Becca.

Pop culture pit stop: that viral “places women refuse for first dates” list stirred the pot, and I even admitted I once did Chili’s—fire away.

Buffalo Wild Wings is an elite first date because wings break the ice, and drinks beat coffee since a dark cozy vibe lowers the walls. Bowling’s a personal no, but I get why people like the activity.

A local dive beats a chain for me, and most spots on that list are actually fine. The only hard no is a family function on date one.

Chef Tom Colicchio says apps shouldn’t be shared—agree or disagree?

Group dining has gone family style in New York and beyond, and trying more things is fun. If you love one dish, order a second.

Exactly—don’t overthink it, just add another plate.

It’s National Bagel Day—plain tops the list, and the bagel-eating record is 15 with cream cheese in eight minutes. How many could you do?

Give me cinnamon raisin and cream cheese all day, and confession: Joey Chestnut followed me, I DMed that he was my childhood hero, and he replied rooting for the Fever to bring a title to Indiana. Now I low-key want a food-eating contest moment.

He’s a California kid, by the way—Coney Island legend with west coast roots.

NBA headline: Jalen Brown begged for a fine over reffing and got hit—thoughts?

It validates what we say all the time—officiating inconsistency is brutal in both leagues, and the fix starts with paying refs more so they can focus, develop, and deliver a better product. Invest in people who make the game clean.

Pros even require refs to have solid finances to limit temptation, and the pipeline’s a mess because youth games are chaos with parents and clout-chasing. Mic’d-up fifth graders and NIL noise are nuking the purity of sports.

College title game at the crib is cool, but Indiana’s been pantsing giants and I’ve got them by more than a score—call it 34 to 20 and a cover. After the last two, how do you pick against them?

Indiana’s chemistry is undeniable and they’re rolling, so I’m on them too even with Miami’s nice setting. I don’t know much about the state, but I’m down to visit Bloomington and meet the people.

Bloomington’s a blast—I hurled behind Kilroy’s in 2016 and still recommend it. IU folks in Indy, take Sophie out for a proper college-town weekend.

This was one of my favorite episodes—just fun, loose, and us. Becca, pull up, and we’ll see you next week in New York for a live one.

I don’t have a crush, I just know Becca’s a vibe. See you next week in New York.
