Episode summary

Dana just dropped Jiri Prochazka vs Carlos Ulberg for the light heavyweight strap in Miami, which is awesome, but if Alex Pereira is the champ, how is that a title fight? The only way it makes sense is Alex vacated, and seeing him on a scale at around 245 had me wondering what he was promised to make that move.

Does vacating point to a division jump? Lately, when guys chase a new belt, they give up the old one, which makes it look like Alex is going up.

What are the facts on the table? Tom Aspinall is dealing with an eye issue, Jon Jones says he is back and in the testing pool, and Alex is 245 and no longer the light heavyweight titleholder.

Could we really get Jon Jones vs Alex Pereira at heavyweight? I thought their best clash was at 205, but Alex is a throwback who will fight anyone at any weight, so heavyweight is in play.

If it is not Jones, then who makes sense? Ciryl Gane feels like the only other fit, and I do not think Alex gives up a belt unless a heavyweight title shot is guaranteed.

How does a Gane matchup sit with you after what happened against Aspinall? Either way, the headline is Alex is moving up, and the signs point to a world title fight.

If Alex wins, we could see a champion in three divisions, which is wild for a guy many thought was here just to run it back with Izzy. Drop who you think it is, Jones or Gane, and until next time, peace.
