Episode summary
Hello, everybody. Fresh haircut, four point one million of you now, and a Valentine’s Day gift: fifty research-backed questions to get closer with your partner and twenty-five to quietly test if it’s time to end things at chriswillx.com/valentine.
Before you chase success, ask the brutal question: do you actually want the day-to-day life required to earn it, not just the prize at the end? If you won’t live the lifestyle, let go of the goal or you’ll build a life you resent.
I tried a meat-and-fruit carnivore phase for six months; my brain felt sharp, but my LDL exploded. Some of us absorb cholesterol like sponges. I kept the bits that worked and moved to a balanced sixteen-eight fasting window.
To the twenty-five-year-old who moved states and hates the job: you’ve got runway. People forget fast, and they aren’t watching you as closely as you fear. Cut the sunk-cost story, take the smallest brave step today toward something you’d be proud to love.
My last health vlog got less empathy because I didn’t show the worst of it. The internet doubts what it can’t see, but many with mold, CFS, and strange labs felt seen. The suggested cures ranged from prayer to goat milk to full-moon blood rituals; I’ll keep sharing what’s real and working.
What’s coming this year: a live tour in Australia, New Zealand, and Bali, then the UK and Ireland, plus a new studio with fresh episode formats and Mostly Wise drops designed with the Sleep Token artist. A book is brewing, but I need to restructure so writing gets my best energy.
Thinking of quitting alcohol while you’re grinding eighteen-hour days? Do it. Use great zero-alcohol swaps if needed. Don’t outsource your choices to what’s socially normal; commit for six months so you actually feel the upside.
You say I keep a good vibe in hard times; last year I cried more than in the previous two decades. I stayed professional, chased morning light, wore light-therapy glasses, rested from caffeine, trained, walked, saw friends, and cut doomscrolling. My brain finally feels like mine again.
Did school fail me? Not really. I chose business over philosophy out of fear, then built my own curriculum through the show. I’m still pro-university, mostly for the life it forces you to live and the people it hands you.
On the worst days with invisible illness, I remind myself I can stay stuck or keep going. Humans are entropy-fighters. I refuse to settle; I’d rather die trying than drift.
Rock and metal fans: yes, I’m chasing more artists. We’re wiring the new studio to capture live performances, so you might get riffs with the conversations.
Merch is back soon with multiple drops a year and better shipping. I love wearing the brand and can’t wait to spot it in the wild.
To those battling Lyme, mold, or long fatigue: I’m focused on retraining my nervous system to feel safe and capable. I’ll keep documenting the path without theatrics.
Is dating in Australia uniquely bad? I don’t think it’s an Australia thing; it’s a modern West thing. Many of you crave deep emotional and intellectual connection, which narrows the field. Hold your standard and keep going.
Struggling to keep hobbies fun without turning them into a sport? Pick pursuits with fuzzier outcomes like yoga or dance, and resist the urge to optimize every brush, drill, or metric.
Looking for a man with values and drive? Go where those people actually spend time: live talks, meditation and yoga studios, libraries, conferences, run clubs. Stop hoping bars or swipe apps will pre-select for character.
Unlearning bad habits is brutally hard; you overwrite, you don’t erase. Build a deeper groove with the opposite behavior and never miss two days in a row.
My beef with hustle culture is the long-term disregard for how you feel. You can outrun your emotions into big wins and end up miserable and alone. Also, don’t treat people like transactions; it corrodes everything.
On unfulfilled potential versus contentment: reward your small wins so your body trusts effort again. If you truly want the next level, define the price and pay it. If you don’t, own that—and point your effort somewhere that matters to you.
Why is deep self-inquiry rare? It’s scary and it slows you down. If you’re wired for it, become friends with it and learn where it helps and where it doesn’t.
Morning routine reset: light and a walk, resonance breathing, meditation, then ten minutes of reading I’ll teach back later. Stacking it early makes it stick. It’s not about performative prep; it’s about anchoring the day before the phone grabs you.
Why do some people leave once you love them? Some only value what’s scarce, often from low self-worth. Don’t date for the chase. Audit your selection pattern and choose partners who can hold closeness.
Chronic fatigue is a silent epidemic. I want more research and easier mold testing and treatment access. Once I’m fully through it, I plan to go hard on that front.
Optimization can wreck enjoyment. Sleep and training are classic traps. Get close to right, then optimize for fun and compliance so you actually keep doing it.
Do you need to be rich to keep a girlfriend? No, but resources widen your dating pool. Ask your exes what actually cooled attraction, then fix the real thing. If it is money, you can increase that faster than you can rewire your whole personality.
Four years clean from gambling and sixty grand in debt left? I’m proud of you. Cut burn, but more importantly, increase income with high-hourly side work and let action crowd out anxiety and relapse risk.
Forming deep friendships in transition is hard because your old tools and identity are gone and your new ones aren’t ready. I’ve moved from passive to active, and now to emotional. It looks like backsliding from the outside, but it’s growth. Stay the course.
On the book: I don’t want to publish a branded almanac and call it a day. I’m hunting for a single, sharp thesis I can own. Too many good options is the problem; I’d love your input on what you want me to write.
Thank you for sticking with me while I felt slow and foggy. I finally feel my spark again. I’ll rip the hinges off this year, but I’ll dose it wisely so I don’t crash. Tour tickets, the Valentine questions, and new merch are coming. I love you all. Bye.
