About this episode

All lines provided by Hard Rock Bet.   Nick Wright predicts the over/under win totals for every team in the NFC. Nick breaks down why he believes Dak Prescott's Dallas Cowboys will reclaim the NFC East from Jalen Hurts' Philadelphia Eagles, whether Caleb Williams' Chicago Bears are being disrespected after winning the NFC North in Ben Johnson's first season as head coach, and who wins a loaded NFC West featuring Matthew Stafford's LA Rams, Brock Purdy's San Francisco 49ers, and Sam Darnold's Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. #Volume See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Episode summary

Quick housekeeping—rate, subscribe, review helps a ton—and today is our NFC way‑too‑early win totals; we’re not married to these takes because a blockbuster, like the Browns reshaping Miles Garrett’s deal and pushing to trade picks five years out, could flip the board.

If he were moved, I think Garrett would command unprecedented draft capital for a non‑quarterback, maybe three firsts, though I doubt they actually pull the trigger.

NFC East starts with Dallas at eight and a half wins; how do you see it?

Over—tough slate, but the offense is strong, the defense should add talent in the draft, and I lean Dallas to edge the division with around eleven wins.

Giants set at seven and a half.

Just right—last‑place schedule helps, a top pick and cleaner structure should steady them, but the offensive build isn’t there for a leap.

Eagles at ten and a half.

Under—coaching heat, likely wideout trade dynamics, aging up front, and defensive losses point to more nine or ten wins than twelve.

Commanders at seven and a half.

Under—defensive personnel still thin, protection worries for the rookie, and that recent deep playoff run felt like an outlier; I’ve got them fourth.

On to the North: Bears at nine and a half.

Slight over—the crossover draw is friendly enough, the young quarterback in year two with continuity can get them to ten even with some offensive line and defensive variance to solve.

Lions at ten and a half.

Just right—love the trajectory, but I’m cautious on offensive line wear and pass rush depth beyond the star edge; schedule helpers keep them on target.

Packers at ten and a half.

Slight under—Houston, Dallas, and the Rams as extras is rough, and I’ve got lingering concern about a key edge’s recovery timeline early in the year.

Vikings at eight and a half.

Under—the market’s a bit too high given a crowded quarterback room and uncertain pecking order for the rookie.

Division lean: it’s a coin flip up top, so I like the value side with Chicago at plus money.

NFC South—Falcons at seven and a half.

Under—brutal draws, and I’m not banking on a quick quarterback rescue to fix the bigger picture.

Panthers at six and a half.

Over—that number’s too dismissive for a division winner bringing back its coach‑quarterback pairing, even if the add‑on games are nasty.

Saints at seven and a half.

Under—even with a soft schedule boost, they’re climbing out of a cap and roster hole and feel short of eight.

Tampa at eight and a half.

Over, and I like them for the division at plus money—urgency for the coach and quarterback, a clearer receiver hierarchy, and a run game that should stabilize if the defense tightens up.

NFC West—Cardinals at four and a half.

Under, reluctantly—the division’s a gauntlet, the crossover slate is heavy, and a thin quarterback plan invites rushing a rookie; zero to one division wins feels likely.

Rams at ten and a half.

Over—if Stafford’s upright, they’ve patched the secondary, can navigate tough extras, and have thirteen‑win upside; a star receiver contract story is noise I expect them to manage.

Forty‑Niners at ten and a half.

Just right—strong roster, tough neighborhood; I’d pass on the number.

Seahawks at ten and a half.

Over—I can see eleven wins without another thirteen‑win spike; for the division though, give me the Rams by a nose.

Quick wrap: overs on Dallas, Chicago, Carolina, Tampa, and the Rams; unders on Philly, Washington, Green Bay, Minnesota, Atlanta, New Orleans, and Arizona; just‑rights on the Giants, Detroit, and San Francisco.

Programming note—next week we’re Wednesday, Thursday, Friday; Friday’s a mailbag, so keep the questions coming, and as always, like, rate, subscribe—have a great weekend and enjoy the tournament.
