Sharp or Square - NFL WEEK 18 REACTIONS - Jets-Bills, Saints-Falcons, Lions-Bears, Cardinals-Rams, Browns-Bengals and more

Welcome to Sharper Square, the show that sharpens the squares and makes the wise guys lean in. I’m Chad Millman with my partner and pro bettor, Simon Hunter; early windows were a mess with turnovers and a blocked extra point, the late slate turned into thrillers, and our card sits three and one with Steelers plus three and a half pending.

Football’s hard, buddy. And yeah, I’m starting with Miles Garrett setting the sack mark; that last one is always the mountain, and he still got it.

Saints plus three and a half at the Falcons looked live despite a blocked punt and early giveaways; they controlled long stretches, and Tyler Shuck flashed early, but mistakes kept handing Atlanta life.

If Chris Olave plays and the kicker hits, they probably get it; they erased Bijan, forced Kirk to do the heavy lifting, and still found a way to lose, which felt like pure number betting. Rookie of the Year momentum tilted away from Shuck and toward the division-winning wideout.

Shuck’s final drive was pure guts, including a scramble and a feathered sideline dart, then a back-corner laser that basically dropped into Ronnie Bell’s elbow; it was the kind of throw voters notice even in defeat.

Onside recoveries hit at roughly twelve percent, so we needed a miracle; at least our Panthers to win the division futures got there.

On the awards board, the Panthers receiver crossed a thousand yards and became a heavy favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year, Jackson Dart moved up after beating Dallas, and Shuck drifted to longer odds.

Browns at Bengals was a meltdown: a blocked extra point, a pick six at the goal line, and a scoop-and-score gift-wrapped the game for a team that couldn’t move the ball; I can’t believe Cincinnati handed it away like that.

Second defensive touchdown and you knew the cover was cooked; a poor soul in a big survivor pool lost three million with the Bengals, and I even tacked on their moneyline. At least Browns over four and a half wins cashed.

I watched every snap, tried not to lose it around my family, and I’m done with Zac Taylor’s game management; happy for Garrett, who deserved the moment.

Lane Johnson once said Garrett is the only guy he knew he’d lose one-on-one to if Garrett wanted it; extra games aside, that was still special to witness.

He did it efficiently while being doubled and tripled, too. Lions plus three and a half at the Bears squeaked in, but this Chicago defense gives me no playoff confidence, and the Dennis Allen love from broadcasts drives me nuts.

Told you they’d suck you back in; Detroit moved it at will while Dan Campbell kicked field goals like a man trying not to blow it. Still, congrats on the two seed, even if it stings for me as an Eagles fan.

I’m not crushed; Caleb’s fourth-quarter burst with Colston Loveland was electric, Luther Burden popped, and once Rome Odunze is back this offense under Ben Johnson will be a handful.

Detroit dominated the yardage and you still hung around, which is who you are; now it’s about hosting and advancing.

Cardinals at Rams was my play; Los Angeles settled for early threes, then Jacoby Brissett went nuclear for two drives and flipped the lead before the Rams steadied it late.

They nearly coughed it up and got some favorable whistles; Wilson’s circus grab got wiped, a couple chains moved for L.A., and Stafford still posted four touchdowns while padding a résumé voters will argue over with Drake Maye.

He finished with forty-six touchdown passes, chased the yardage crown with Dak and Goff, and McVay clearly knew the stakes; that post-TD hug looked like a quiet MVP pitch.

I’d vote Stafford after what he did to Seattle twice, even with that loss; and let’s cool it on Drake Maye as a solo act—Stefon Diggs and the backs mattered plenty.

Watching that Rams offense made me think they’d shred the Bears secondary, especially with Puka humming; we’ll circle back on that matchup soon.

We kept Dallas out of the contest, thankfully; they were undisciplined, couldn’t stop anyone, and made Jackson Dart look like a rookie star.

I’m stunned they sat Dak while the passing title was in play; it helped my Eagles with draft positioning and probably nudged the Giants down the board, which could change their quarterback calculus.

Washington-Philly crashed to three pre-kick; penalties buried the Eagles while backups played heavy snaps, and it felt like a giveaway that cost a path to the two seed.

Steelers-Ravens steamed to four and a half like we expected, and I’m even more comfortable taking Pittsburgh with the points; that looks like the classic over-correction.

It’s ugly and automatic; this rivalry says take the dog and live with it.

Shame of the week is Zac Taylor: punting on fourth and one at midfield in a lost season, rushing a quick score with time left, and coaching to avoid Garrett’s sack more than to win while his corners were out; once Garrett got the mark, they finally pushed it downfield like they should have all day.

My shame is the new ten percent tax on gambling losses; I literally left for Bermuda to dodge it, because taxing losses is the most un-American thing I’ve seen in this space.

It was buried in the big bill and flips the old write-off dynamic; we’ll unpack it in the offseason because it hits casuals and pros alike.

Hero of the week is Tyler Shuck for dragging that cover home at the end; that was a clutch close to a wild rookie ride.

I’m handing it to Atlantic City; post-PASPA it felt like the boardwalk reborn with packed books, great shows, and weekends bouncing casino to casino—a six-year heater I’ll never forget.

Simon says was Steelers plus three and a half, Chad’s Choice was Rams minus seven, Brass Balls was Panthers plus three and a half, and our Rock and a Hard Place on the Bengals flopped; parlays split and the underdog mix nearly popped.

Quick playoff leans: Bills are one and a half at Jacksonville with a kicker mess, and the Jags feel like the sharp home dog; Bears flipped to small favorites, Eagles to three, and Panthers are catching double digits at the Rams but I’m not auto-clicking Carolina after that turnover-fueled win.

I hit Jags plus one and a half and expect the public to pound Buffalo; Bears move made sense, and if Philly hits three and a half we talk Purdy as a dog. Grab Chargers minus three and a half versus the Patriots now; first-time playoff quarterbacks often take lumps, and that defense squeezes the deep ball.
