Windhorst says LeBron wants the Lakers to bring the max or explain why not; is there any real case to pay him less?

If he leaves, he’d need a big discount because almost no one has space, but the Lakers can go over the cap with his Bird rights, so any pay cut would be pure generosity to juice flexibility.

I’m over the idea he should subsidize the roster while stars across the league clear fifty to sixty million without a peep; he was still a top-tier playoff performer, so asking him to shave millions so others get paid feels backward.

After LeBron, where does your rooting interest go—Luka, a team, or something else?

I figured I’d slide to Luka, but I’m also ready to be free of Lakers fandom; living in New York, I can’t jump to the Knicks if they just won, so I’ll be teamless until Las Vegas gets a franchise and that’ll be my day-one squad.

If LeBron went back to Cleveland and won a fifth, would that actually move people toward calling him the GOAT?

Most minds are set; if more Finals, another ring, and rewriting the record book did not change opinions, a fifth in Cleveland probably will not either—Skip’s stance is just the loud version of that.

Who won the Luka trade?

That take is rough; selling a Ferrari for a discount and then stumbling on a bag of cash does not make the sale smart, it just makes you lucky.

Is OKC’s stacked core sustainable, or will money and minutes crack it—and are we all doomed for years?

No dynasty is inevitable now; this Thunder group is in a fight right now and will feel the squeeze soon with big raises and options hitting, and I doubt that ownership lives in the second apron.

Presti’s sharp and the pick stash helps, but they’ll likely have less talent next season than this one, and this team still has to slog through this run and a rugged Finals.

What’s the toughest career lesson you only learned by living it?

Do not burn bridges; a Kansas City feud tried to kneecap my TV career a decade later, and tangling with powerful people carries a real tax.
