About this episode

This week on Show Me Something, Sophie Cunningham and West Wilson are all over the map in the best way possible. Sophie accidentally shows up late thanks to daylight savings confusion, West is buzzing with energy, and the episode quickly spirals into everything from Pilates and cross-training to WNBA uncertainty, March Madness sleepers, and the right way to slide into someone’s DMs. The crew gets into Sophie’s thoughts on the latest WNBA negotiations, her top 4 favorite players in the draft: UConn’s Azzi Fudd, LSU’s Flau’jae Johnson, UCLA’s Lauren Betts, and TCU’s Olivia Miles. The duo also dish on which under-the-radar college teams could make some noise in the upcoming NCAA tournament. They also debate why the gym is the worst place to flirt and how West somehow keeps becoming more and more of the internet’s casserole king, thanks to his ‘Summer House’ kitchen exploits. The crew also catches up on all things: including sauna talk, NBA comeback stories (shout out Missouri's own Jayson Tatum), and World Baseball Classic beef breakdowns (Cal Raleigh & Randy Arozarena face off) as Team USA's fate hangs in the balance. Episode summary

Episode vibes are chaotic in the best way: I’m teasing Kev about my mic, Sophie strolls in forty minutes late, and we realize daylight saving totally punked her clocks.

I thought I had another forty minutes, sprinted back from Pilates, and yes, I got cooked in class, which is exactly why I’m hooked on it.

Does your team make you do Pilates, or is that you? We had DBs taking Pilates and I’ve heard of NFL backs doing ballet because the balance work is elite.

It’s me, and it’s become big in the W; I’m in there four to five times a week because it hits the small stabilizers, and honestly, kids should cross-train more instead of specializing early.

Herschel Walker and Barry Sanders did ballet; maybe the big fellas were onto something.

WNBA check-in: there’s a CBA deadline today; is a lockout on the table or are we getting clarity tonight?

Execs are meeting today and it has to get done now; it’s wild seeing this urgency at the buzzer when the draft timing, free agency, and pay structures all hinge on this deal.

Do you track the draft closely or just see who shows up, and are Mizzou players in the mix?

I follow strong classes but the draft is a crapshoot; only a few stick and fit matters more than hype, though there’s always a pro path overseas if the W doesn’t hit right away.

Give us sleepers and your top-pick lean.

AZ Fudd is a complete guard with shot-making and feel; a big from UCLA has real upside; Olivia Miles is crafty, and Flau’jae’s talent plus personality could pop if she lands in the right system.

If you had the first pick, who’s the move?

I’d lean AZ for her all-around game, but if I needed size, I’d roll with the UCLA big because the tools are there.

Are W teams still built around classic centers, or is it all stretch bigs now?

It’s modern now—fours and fives need to shoot and handle like Stewie and Jonquel; A’ja steps out too, and while the NBA sets trends, someone like Caitlin Clark shows we grow our own evolutions.

Atlanta’s Magic City Night got axed by the league after the promo rolled and people complained; it’s such a miss to squash a uniquely Atlanta idea that wasn’t even raunchy.

They had merch and wing flavors ready and then pulled it after the fact; how did this get that far if leadership was going to say no?

NFL note: Travis Kelce is back with the Chiefs; I wondered if he’d skip a long offseason, especially if Mahomes wasn’t ready early, but he’s running it back and they’re shuffling the backfield.

Hot Girl of the Week is Lamb Chop; she’s the coolest to cook with and everything she makes smacks.

That cheeseburger cheese you two made looked insane, and I’m giving my pick to Taylor, my Pilates assassin who keeps me honest.

Headlines: Jack Hughes DM’d Tate McRae and it worked, Cameron Brink’s fiancé sent an email and that worked too; are DMs the move or nah?

I’m pro-DMs but don’t be weird; wait for a real hook, like a shared place or interest, so it feels natural instead of thirsty.

Slide respectfully if you’re not in the same city, but I’ll always rate in-person energy higher; just don’t try it at the gym.

So the gym is off-limits—what makes it a hard no?

Gyms can feel vulnerable and crowded with dudes; let people lift in peace and save the flirting for literally anywhere else.

Everything’s so sexualized at flashy gyms; give me a gritty spot where you sweat, steam, and go home.

Infrared saunas don’t do it for me; I want a real sweat box, even if it once left me with a surprise nosebleed.

YMCA etiquette is still full birthday suit, by the way; consider a towel a public service.

World Baseball Classic beef: Randy Arozarena and Cal Raleigh reportedly snubbed each other; gamesmanship or goofy?

Compete hard, sure, but refusing a quick dap to a teammate is corny; respect travels.

I’d still grab dinner with a national-team opponent the night before and then go at her; that’s normal.

Jason Tatum returned from a torn Achilles after about nine months and dropped points right away; thoughts on the comeback?

Any Missouri legend gets love here; Achilles injuries spook me because they feel way more common now, so seeing him hoop again is awesome.

Rehab is a grind and it’s scary how many stars have had Achilles issues; props for putting in the work and looking sharp on return.

I interviewed him early in my career and he bleeds St. Louis—Cardinals gear only; if you’re from there, hold on tight to that dude.
