Episode summary
Quick check-in from the Academy Fight Club. I want to clear up what I might do next with Jon Jones after we filmed in Thailand, worked side by side, and my guys won the show and even a pickup game.
Is a straight wrestling match happening? Big offers are real, including seven-figure money, and I’d sign tomorrow, because I’m confident I’d win ten to zero—and I think he knows it, even with Izzy Martinez trying to bait me; much respect to RAF, but I don’t need convincing.
What about grappling instead? I’ve been offered that, but it turned into submission-only, no points, and long rounds, and I want a points format so there’s a clear winner, because I can take him down and control him even if I don’t catch a submission.
Where do I stand with Jon now? Spending time together softened some of the old heat, but he still annoys me, and while I don’t need this match—I love commentating, coaching, and this channel—I’d do it for the right money and fair rules, so don’t get your hopes up for wrestling on his side or submission-only on mine; if they want me out-wrestled, they’d need someone like Gable Steveson.
Thanks for riding with me. Like and subscribe, and keep an eye on our Academy Fight Club team, including Jacobi Smith at UFC Fight Night in Oklahoma City and more coming up with Theory FC.
