Episode summary
Alright guys, quick shout to our new sponsor Hard Rock Bet. Welcome to a brand new DCTV, and here’s the news nobody wanted: Amanda Nunes vs. Kayla Harrison is off after Harrison chose neck surgery. Tough blow.
How serious is this layoff? I’m no doctor, but six months for a neck sounds optimistic. After my own disc surgery, I never felt the same in training; that said, Kayla is a rare talent, and if anyone can return to form, it’s her. Wishing her a smooth, speedy recovery.
So what now for Amanda? She stepped away after dominating Irene Aldana because the challenges felt thin. Like when Jon Jones needed a new mountain, Kayla holding the belt lit that fire again. Amanda looks in shape and ready to go.
Is there a replacement that truly motivates her? Norma Dumont already put her hand up. The question is whether that excites the Lioness; a belt alone didn’t keep her before, and an interim title only makes sense if Kayla’s return stretches beyond that hopeful timeline.
Should Amanda stay on the card? If this comeback is real, I say yes. Take an interim or top‑contender fight, get reps, and shake off rust. Chael and I have preached it for years: you only sharpen by competing. It’s easier to rebuild against a top fighter than to jump straight at the absolute best.
What does this mean for women’s bantamweight? After a flat title fight had people questioning the division, it suddenly has juice again with Kayla’s rise, Amanda’s possible return, and Norma in play. Tell me what you think in the comments. Like and subscribe. It’s 2026, and we’re back to work at DCTV. Peace.
