About this episode

Jon Jones made major headlines after getting filmed saying he has severe arthritis he's dealing with. Daniel Cormier IS BACK to give his reaction to the viral video revealing Jon's injuries, and why "it's a sad day" to see Jones is finally doing fighting in the sport. DC GOES IN ON why he thinks there's NO WAY Jones will wrestle him after this news came out, and that we should get ready to now see the end of Jones' career in the UFC. See why Cormier thinks Jon is actually okay with the news coming out, despite his public comments claiming he didn't know he was being filmed. And with Justin Gaethje vs. Ilia Topuria almost certainly headlining the White House, DC gives his take on the future UFC title fight. #Volume  All lines provided by  Hard Rock Bet See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Episode summary

What’s up, guys—welcome back to the show. Sydney cooked me on the golf course, my scalp’s peeling like wild, and yes, I should’ve listened to Chris from UFC makeup and worn a hat.

Q: Are you and Jon Jones actually going to wrestle? A: I joked I’d blank him 10 to zero, but his health changes that; he’s talking hip surgery, and news about his injuries popped after a fan recorded him with those metaglasses.

I do have arthritis, and the kid who posted that was out of line; I thought we were talking privately, and he filmed me with those glasses anyway.

Q: Do you buy that he did not know he was on camera? A: Not really; those glasses flash a white light, and when you live in the spotlight, you develop a feel for when someone’s recording.

Q: Then what’s your read on the leak? A: It looks intentional—like he wanted the injury story out there, then played it off as an accidental reveal.

Q: Is he actually hurt? A: I think so; that celebrity football clip showed him moving stiff, and it felt like the miles from wrestling, kicks, and maybe powerlifting have caught up to him.

Q: So is a wrestle-off between you two happening? A: No; if that’s where his body is, he could not train for it, and you can see him starting to accept that the fighting days may be ending.

Q: What’s the right fight for the White House card? A: Justin Gaethje versus Ilia Topuria feels perfect, and the matchmaking was a no-lose move—either Paddy Pimblett becomes a rocket to the title, or an American walks in holding a belt for a massive June event near Independence Day.

I appreciate you all for the love—the channel’s growing fast because of you, so like, subscribe, and tell your friends. Also, send me remedies for this roasted dome; should I be using a scrub or what—help me out, and peace.
