Welcome back to the show. Today I’m sitting with one of MMA’s most polarizing figures, a guy built on rivalries and moments, now at a crossroads, and we’re finding out what’s next for Colby “Chaos” Covington.

Miami’s perfect for staying active, man, and it fits the life I like to live.

How much of what we see is you, and how much is show?

Most of it is me, but I learned early this is show business; I stopped worrying about being liked and focused on getting people to care enough to watch.

Wrestlers hate being booed; how did you accept it?

Brazil flipped that switch for me; the boos brought out a different dog, and I leaned into it so people would tune in, whether to cheer or to see me lose.

What do people get most wrong about you that spills into real life?

They don’t separate hype from everyday life; I turn it on for business, then go back to being a regular person and let people judge for themselves.

You love pro wrestling, and emotion sells; how did the Chaos persona lock in?

Watching guys cut promos taught me the heel and babyface game; I built a bigger character because that’s how you draw eyes and big fights.

Take me back to Oregon and how bullying shaped you.

I was tiny, got pushed around and hazed, and it lit a fire to train nonstop so nobody could ever do that to me again.

Did you want to quit, and what kept you in it?

Plenty of times I told my mom I was done, but my parents made me keep showing up and get tougher.

Your mom carried the family early; how did that drive affect you?

She worked three jobs, even at a nuclear plant, and her grind made me own my future and aim to be the alpha in my story.

Your dad coached you hard, even over birthdays; when did it feel worth it?

In college it clicked—scholarships and structure came from that toughness, and later I could thank them, even buying my mom a home.

Why choose fighting over an Olympic run after being a two-time All-American?

Training with Chael showed me the path, and when ATT offered housing and a stipend after my senior year, I jumped.

Walk me through the Maia turning point and the Brazil fallout.

I felt overlooked after beating Dong Hyun Kim, so in Brazil I went all-in on provoking interest to save my spot; the reaction got so hot the UFC moved a title fight to Chicago for safety.

Then you became interim champ and the treatment changed.

Everything accelerated—from a White House invite to talking business directly with Hunter—and I got exactly what I wanted: people cared.

On Usman, the rivalry was real; how do you see those fights now?

I loved the stage, still think the first stoppage was early and the rematch was razor close, and I’m grateful for the lessons and where faith has led me.

Masvidal was once your roommate; when did it sour, and what did you feel in the fight?

It turned after I beat Maia; we had planned to make money and be cool after, but ego got in the way, and on fight night I felt him hit his ceiling while defending better than he ever did in the gym.

Where’s your head now after that short-notice Tampa fight and a tough stretch?

I want legacy fights with full camps; I took that one on two weeks while campaigning, cut a ton, and did the company a favor.

You expected to fight at the White House; how did you take not being on that card?

I was bummed for my parents at first, but I’ve been there many times, Hunter said there was no spot, and I trust the decision.

Clear the air on the Bo chatter, and give me a quick Jon Jones college note.

That fight was never offered and I would have taken it; back in college we shared a bunk, and later when he bulked up I saw erratic behavior I chalked up to what he was putting in his body.

What do you make of the White House card and Topuria versus Gaethje?

It did not match the early talk of stacked titles; Topuria looks like the guy right now and Gaethje is fighting time, though I’m glad some strong Americans are on it.

Nate keeps chirping at me; what do you make of it?

He’s jealous of your clean legacy, and if he comes back, I’ll handle it for you.

What’s next for your business life?

My network’s my engine; I invested in Real American Beer tied to Hogan’s legacy and in American Freestyle, and I’m open to special wrestling showcases.

I wanted him to lead, but he insisted it was my night and walked beside me with the flag despite being banged up; I’ll always be grateful.
