FantasyPros - 2026 NFL Free Agency Predictions: Which Rumors Make the Most Sense? (Ep. 1971)

Welcome in to Fantasy Pros. It’s Joe P. here with Jake, and we’re digging into the free agency rumor mill. Tags are flying, teams are posturing, and we’ll be here all week, so hit subscribe. With so many tags already, do you still see a busy market for players changing teams?

A lot of the headliners will vanish before Monday. Between franchise tags and handshake deals, the pool shrinks fast, and we go from deep to thin in a hurry.

Quarterbacks first. Daniel Jones is coming off injuries and a small window of strong play. With the Colts and others lurking, has he shown enough to justify something near 40 million a year?

He hasn’t earned that number, but the league is desperate at quarterback. With protection and real weapons he can function, but for fantasy we’re cautious. If he lands with the Colts and is fully healthy, there’s QB1 upside, yet the recovery timeline keeps him outside that range for now. Real life? I wouldn’t pay him that much.

If that price made you wince, Malik Willis reportedly wants 30 million. The Steelers have balked, the Cardinals are sniffing around. How do you read it, and what would it mean for fantasy?

Thirty is a gamble I’d tolerate before giving forty to Jones. The hype is built on a small sample, so in dynasty I’d test the market and see if someone overpays. I liked his tools coming out, but a full season changes how defenses attack you. If it fails, you can move on faster. Arizona would be a fun landing spot.

If Pittsburgh misses on Willis, does the Aaron Rodgers carousel spin again, and where does that end?

He’ll play. A few teams will be left without a chair, and the Steelers could be one. He isn’t peak Rodgers, but if they whiff elsewhere, they might try to beef up receiver and run it back for one more year. A Kyler trade there feels unlikely, which makes a Rodgers reunion feel possible.

Kyler in Pittsburgh doesn’t vibe for me. Miami or a lighter market makes more sense.

Drop him in Minnesota with Kevin O’Connell and I’m in.

George Pickens was tagged. Any real trade chance, or is he staying put?

He probably stays. The receiver trade market is stingy, and it’s hard to find a team with the right capital and need. Maybe the Falcons kick the tires, but the list is short.

Breece Hall looks headed for a tag with the Jets, and their quarterback options are bleak. Any silver lining?

Not until they find a real quarterback. Tagging a running back on a struggling roster won’t fix the offense. And yes, Russell Wilson will land a starting job somewhere.

Travis Etienne rumors are popping, with the Chiefs mentioned. If the Jags tag him, that might settle it. What’s the best fantasy angle?

Kansas City would send his hype into orbit, so I’d consider selling high if that happens. If he stays in Jacksonville, he’s a strong value who won’t get full credit thanks to last year’s dips and injury noise.

Alec Pierce is linked to the Titans and Raiders. I like him in Vegas as a true vertical piece next to Brock Bowers with a rebuilt line. How do you see it?

Vegas fits perfectly. Kubiak’s scheme springs receivers open downfield, and Pierce could command real volume. I was surprised the Colts want to re-up given Pittman, Downs, and their rookie. If he stays, it might be a sell-high window. If he goes to the Raiders, stock up.

One more big name: I want to manifest Mike Evans to Buffalo. Josh Allen needs a veteran anchor while they groom a rookie wideout. Any rumor you’re pushing?

I like your Evans pitch, but watch Washington. They have money, and if the receiver market dries up, Isaiah Likely as a true TE1 with Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin makes a ton of sense. The combine buzz imagined him as a top option elsewhere; in that role, he could crack the top tight end tier. If Kyle Pitts gets used as a shallow target sponge, I’m cooler on him.

My first wish was Pitts to Washington, but I’ll gladly pivot to Likely if that’s how it breaks.
