We’re in Vegas, March hoops are buzzing, my birthday’s around the corner, and I’ve got business: the minute I heard Ronda Rousey versus Gina Carano on Netflix, my ears popped up.

Does Rousey–Carano still matter now? The names still move people; they both exited after losses to all‑time talents, and while Gina’s older with a long layoff, I think Ronda’s got more left athletically.

What’s my read on Francis Ngannou’s situation? I wanted UFC to bring him back, but looking back the PFL split feels mutual given the costs, opponent pay, and hard-to-measure returns, and I still see Francis as one of the best heavyweights even if this next matchup may be lopsided.

Which matchup actually gets me most fired up? Nate Diaz versus Mike Perry, because they aren’t the top-ranked welterweights, but they know how to pull you into a fight and then deliver chaos.

How strong were they on the way out of UFC? Nate went roughly even against top names, Perry slid hard, yet both built even bigger star power afterward because fans show up for their energy and attitude.

Why does Diaz–Perry work? It’s pure theater plus grit; Perry rebuilt himself in bare knuckle and Diaz brings eyes everywhere he goes.

What about the Netflix card as a whole? It feels like a real stage outside UFC—free, massive reach, legit event—while the UFC still sits on top and always will.

Did I expect a different blockbuster? I thought we might get McGregor–Diaz 3, but Nate chose Perry, and I think that still hits.

Bottom line: I’m into this card and I’m happy fighters have more places to get paid, but let’s not compare it to the UFC’s stacked showcase—that’s the year’s best.
